INVITATION TO BID INVITATION TO BID MILL STREET ROADWAY AND SIDEWALK REPAIRS TOWN OF ORONO, MAINE The Town of Orono, Maine will receive sealed bids at the Orono Municipal Building, 59 Main Street, PO. Box 130, Orono, Maine 04473 until Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10:00 A. M. at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers. 2. PROJECT Work under this project includes, but is not limited to, repair of approximately 600 linear feet (LF) of roadway and sidewalk including approximately 800 CY of gravel, 2300 SY of pavement milling, 600 tons of pavement, and 900 LF of concrete curb. Contractor shall be responsible for providing all traffic control, equipment, and materials needed for construc- tion of the improvements. It is intended that the work start on approximately May 20, 2019 and be fully complete by August 1, 2019, except for grass establishment. A total of 45 contract days within that time period will be allowed for construction. 3. Plans and Specifications are on file and may be examined at the following locations: Olver Associates Inc. 290 Main Street Winterport, Maine 04496 Associated Contractors of Maine 188 Whitten Road Augusta, Maine 04330 Orono Municipal Building 59 Main Street Orono, Maine 04473 Construction Summary of Maine 734 Chestnut Street Manchester, New Hampshire 03104 Copies may be obtained at Olver Associates Inc., Environmental Engineers, 290 Main Street, PO. Box 679, Winterport, Maine 04496, for $100, plus $35.00 if mailing is required. Only registered plan holders who have obtained plans from the engineering firm may submit a bid on the project 4. PRE-BID CONFERENCE A non-mandatory pre-bid conference shall be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Orono Municipal Building. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. The successful Contractor shall be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to 100% of the Contractor's bid price at the time of contract execution. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid that it deems to be in its best interests and to waive any irregularities in bidding. Sophia L.
